Celebrating 25 Years

The idea for Sun Country was conceived in 1984 when Tommy Tharp had a conversation with Forest Wood of Ranger Boats during the 1984 Bassmaster Classic. During that conversation Tommy learned that Forrest was an avid deer hunter and that he would be in New Mexico later that year for a Bassin Gals tournament at Elephant Butte Lake.

Membership Information and Club Forms

Ron Wehrs

Ron Wehrs passed away last August 19th and it has taken me until now to be able to write something about him.  He was a great friend and will be missed by many of us.  I attended his services the Saturday following his passing at Tommy and Linda Tharp's in Elephant Butte and a lot of SCBA anglers were able to attend.  His smile, sometimes confused with a shit eating grin, was always there even while playing golf last June when a bunch of us got together to play Saturday afternoon while we were there for the Sun Country Tournament.  Glenda and the kids and grandkids will be fine in time and your prayers will be sure to help. 

We miss you Ron.

All competitors must be members of Sun Country Bass Association. Membership forms must be completed in their entirety including boat ownership information for our sponsors.

Any and all forms you need are posted within links below. As a security precaution all forms are in pdf format and a link to download Adobe Reader is also there.

All members are required to have entry forms completed in their entirety for each tournament and to be familiar with all rules regarding SCBA tournaments. 2009 rules are available as well as tournament entry forms below.

Ranger Cup

Rules for Ranger Cup are available at the Ranger Website or on the Link on the Tournament Page including clothing and emblem requirements. Entry Fee will be per team with Trophies for 1st and 2nd place sponsored by Smith RV and Marine and a 0 payout for First Place team. All additional monies will be paid back at Championship to top qualifying teams finishing first, second and third place.
